In July 2018, we raised a significant amount of funds for our initiative of providing scholarship & establishing an endowment at UTD (The University of Texas at Dallas), which ultimately went over $100K especially due to our fellow senior NED alumni Ashraf Habibullah‘s benevolent matching at our Annual Dinner event.

In May 2019, we signed an agreement with The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) to establish an endowment for granting scholarships under the banner of ‘Ashraf Habibullah N.E.D. Scholarship/Fellowship‘, as you can see in the pictures below from that signing ceremony, with Zulfi Ahmed (Former Director) & Erum Rahman (Former President), who represented our organization. We truly appreciate all the support that all of our members & NED alumni have provided to this effort and establishment of endowment.

Application Process
The application process will open up again this year in mid-March with an end of April deadline. The scholarships are then disbursed in the subsequent fall semester.

Note: If there isn’t a sufficient number of applicants, UTD may extend the deadline. They did extend the deadline in 2020 due to pandemic.
